Special award
Since 2007 the Marco Luchetta Press Awards have conferred special recognition to those journalists who during their career have stood out for upholding the ideals that inspired the competition. To date, the prize has been awarded to two well-known names in Italian journalism: Ettore Mo in 2007 , Vittorio Zucconi in 2008 and Piero Angela in 2009.
In 2010 the prize has been awarded to the best reportage about Haiti's tragedy.

For “Les enfants esclaves en Haiti”, broadcast on France 2, about the slave children in Haiti. It’s a phenomenon that worsened after the earthquake that struck the island. A true form of slavery that people try to fight by keeping the children inside the few orphanages that are still working.
